Kernel For EP installed on NW04 WAS 640

We installed EP6.0 in SAP NetWeaver '04 Support Release 1 system. Now We want to update the kernel patch from 139 to 175 for the WAS ABAP 640 system of EP.

In service marketplace kernels are available for both ECC Server <b>(Support Packages and Patches"-> SAP Application Components"-> SAP ERP" ->SAP ERP 2004" Entry by Component"-> SAP ECC Server)</b> and Netweaver '04 system <b>( Support Packages and Patches" ->SAP NetWeaver" ->SAP NETWEAVER"-> SAP NETWEAVER 04" ->Entry by Component" ->Application Server ABAP)</b> and both seem to be the same.

Can anybody please confirm whether we can chose any one of them or is there any other section where we can find the kernel for updating the ABAP sytem installed from SAP NetWeaver '04 for EP6.0.

Hi,

See there are ways to choose the files. Whenever you want to go ahead use the quick-link sp-stacks and then selct what you want. You get the option to choose proper OS and also the Database. Then also you have the option to choose which components you want to have. That helps you to get the required files.

So select that. Proper keernel is also available in the same stack list. Go ahead don't worry just be careful.

yes ...both are same. You can choose any of those two location you mentioned. As EP is netweaver componenet, better choose the 2nd location: <b>Support Packages and Patches" ->SAP NetWeaver" ->SAP NETWEAVER"-> SAP NETWEAVER 04" ->Entry by Component" ->Application Server ABAP</b>

Don't forget to choose the right kernel for your Operating system/database platform combination.
