Hello all,

The Scenario is IDoc - XI - File.

Can Anyone give me steps to configure IDoc Ack. configuration for the same scenario. The Scenario is completed except Acknowledgment. Since File is Third Party System i am not able to go about for the configuration of IDoc Ack.

Any Help Rewarded.

Thanks

Ramesh P

HI Ramesh

In order to send idoc ack, the necessary parameters(like ALEAUD message type) have to be specified in we20 partner profile.

The idoc acknowledgement can be enabled or disabled for a particular idoc type using the table idxnoale or the report idx_noale.

Here are some example of IDoc acknowledgement:

Cheers..

hello vasu,

thanks for your response.

1. ALEAUD is for configuring Inbound IDoc right. But this Scenario is Outbound right, IDoc XI File. So how to go about?

Ramesh,

In XI , In SXMB_ADM --> Integration Engine Configuration --> Specific Configuration add the following parameter, ACK_SYSTEM_FAILURE with value as 1.

Also, make sure that the Receiver Business System has a Logical System name associated with it in Adapter Specific identifiers.

The AleAduit will now be sent out from XI automatically.

Then why are you configuring a IDOC ack ?

I guess IDoc ack. makes sense if it is a IDoc being send from XI to R3.

If that is the case then make use of the links provided in th earlier posts.

Hi Shabarish,

Then why are you configuring a IDOC ack ?

Because SAP R/3 has to get confirmation that it had successfully sent IDoc. I accept that the third party system (here file) cannot send ack.. right?

Yes

But this Scenario is Outbound right, IDoc XI File. So how to go about?

I think there is some misunderstanding about the ack.

Ack is used to get the status at the receiver end only. It could be a system or application ack.

What u want is "confirmation that it had successfully sent IDoc". U can view this using some transactions like sm58, we05

I accept that the third party system (here file) cannot send ack.. right?

Yes.

Still if u want a response from file server, use BPM
