Mandatory Field in SRM

Dear Experts,

We are trying to set a field as mandatory, but we can´t find anything standard like "field selections" of MM R3.

How is the best way of setting a field mandatory? A badi that checks that the field is not blank?

Using the BADI - BBP_DOC_CHECK_BADI it can be done easily.
