Remote Cube in APO System

Dear All,

I am facing some problems creating remote cube in SCM 5.0.

Could someone elaborate the step by step process for creating a remote cube in SCM 5.0?

Dear Harish,

Thanks for the inputs. I was able to create the remote cube and successfully view the data in the planning area. Things have changed in SCM 5.0 as compared to APO 3.1, especially while creating the infosource for this export datasource.

true. I still prefer to use the 3.X options. Had some trouble with the BI7. But it could be good if some BW consultants are around.

i assume you are trying to back up a planning area

If so

go to change mode of the planning area

Choose EXTRAS from the top Tool bar and choose "Data Extraction Tools" option

Click on the "Data Backup" Button then "Generate Infocube from planning area"

Fill in the name of the Cube and the rest and you should have created the remote cube

You still need to create the infosource link

The other way of doing it is from RSA1

from the context menu of the infoarea choose Create Infocube

Click on "based on DTP for direct access" and choose "with infosource 3.x" and fill in the infosource

Are you getting any errors?
