Is there any way I can get a way to run SAP locally just on a trial basis not to affect our production system. I am very new to SAP and am learning the system.
I want to eventually cover BASIS functionality for SAP. I heard there was something called MiniSAP? Is this true? If so where can I find this tool ?
Thanks so much
Hi,
on SDN the ABAP+JAVA version isn't available (right now).
But if you're SAP customer you can order IDES (in a flavor you like) at SMP alias swcat. Also check <a href="/people/martin.vierling/blog/2005/05/18/integrating-to-sap-solutions--test-system-opportunities-for-independent-software-vendors thread</a> for test opportunities.

Ok, ok,
Here's <a href="https://service.sap.com/swcat">SMP alias swcat</a>, now click 'SAP IDES' at the right and you can add the IDES (<u>I</u>nternet <u>D</u>emo and <u>E</u>ducation <u>S</u>ystem [if I remember right]) you want to your basket (if you've got the right to do that, otherwise ask your basis people).

P.S.: SMP stand for <a href="https://service.sap.com"><u>S</u>AP <u>M</u>arket<u>p</u>lace</a>

Hi Hermiz,
download the trial version of SAP from
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloads --> SAP NetWeaver 2004 & 7.0 Trials and Previews on Windows/Linux Platform and Install on your PC . Its a good place to start and will give you almost all the functionality.
Thanks
Prince Jose
