difference between EP 6.0 and EP 7.0

The primary difference is that E.P 7.0 has the capability to implement federated portal network and E.P 6.0 doesn't. Apart from that the versions match depending on SP.

Please note the main reason to upgrade would be if you upgraded any component running on ABAP stack to 2004s. To use new functionality in for example B.I 7.0 you have to upgrade to E.P 7.0.
