Support for eclipse3.x ?

Hello,

we have some licenses of Web AS 6.40 for Java that came with SAP BW. My boss is suggesting to go with NetWeaver for the Java development for that reason. The developers here are not very amused that Web AS 6.40 is still based on eclipse 2.1? That would be a step back for us. Does NetWeaver '04 support eclipse 3.x? Is there some free upgrade path from Web AS 6.40 to NetWeaver '04?

Oops, think I made a little mistake here. Looks like Web AS 6.40 makes use of NetWeaver'04 or the other way round. Well, but my initial question remains: when can we expect the next version of NetWeaver that supports eclipse 3.x? Will there be a free upgrade path?
