SAP Trial version installation/Licensing

Hello there,

I have installed trial version of SAP on my laptop computer and sent the information to SAP at www.sap.com/minisap for extending the license. But I have received very long key back from las@sap.com. It believe it has to be 24 charaters.

Has anyone seen this problem?

Eric, thats correct. I am not applying for the permanent license. As I said it is trial version installed on laptop. FYI, you get the license keys from SAP to relicense the trail versions too

Thanks for your replies. I was not asking procedure to install SAP trial license. I have received license key from SAP which is more than 200 characters long. May be it is in error but I can not enter this key and there is no support from SAP as it is trial version.

I just wanted to know has anyone this problem before.

In general you can't apply a permanent license to a trial version. You will have to install a full version and the apply the license.

This is a keys which sap will send.I think its a computer genertaed keys.

top avoid the misuse of license SAP is providing with long character keys.

You have recived the .txt format license file.

Save on desktop.

Logon to sap and type. <b>slicence</b> (transaction code).

choose new license

browse and locate the file which is on desktop and press enter.

Yours sap license got installed.

Hi,

Just don't change anything, first save that file in your desktop as a notepad. And

To get an SAP License you have to complete the

following steps:

1) Find out the machine on which the SAP message server is running.

2) Get your hardware key by running "saplicense -get"

on the machine where the SAP message server is running.

3) Logon to SAPnet and send a license request to SAP.

4) On receipt of your license key from SAP, install it

using "saplicense -install".

As a more convenient way to install the license please

use the transaction SLIC in the SAP system.
