Can any body tell me if a table has a * symbol infront of it what does it mean?
Some tables start with letter V some with A Some with T and some with S does these letter indicate anything specifically?
I appreciate any tips on the tables.

Dear Sara
I have not seen any table starting with *, if you find any so tell me , normally it is used form fuzzy logic search.

table starting with A, are for master tables e.g. A004 for material,
table starting with T, are Configuration tables for e.g. T000 for Clients, T001 for Company Codes
table starting with S, are tables For structures, for e..g S004 SIS: Product/Sales Organization/Distribution Cha

Sara,
usually * is used for the search , well if any one wants to search a table starting from A and does not know the full table name , you just add a * to it so that the search can list out all the possible tables with first letter as A ....
i hope you get the concept and there is no such table in SAP as A* .its just used for the search criteria.
Hope this helps
Cheers
