EWA for Solution Manager 4.0 , generating word reports automatically

Hi,

we are using SAP Solution Manager 4.0 and want to generate the several reports of a solution automatically. I found note 938386 and tried the report RDSMOPREPGEN.

It worked fine. Unfortunately it didn't work automatically, because i had to choose the date, the system and must confirm my choice.

Is there a workaround to generate the last reports of a solution automatically?

I also opened a call in the SAP Support Portal. But i'm still waiting for a response.

Hi Mathias,

why not plan a job with this report and assign dynamic date calculation selection variables to the date fields?

Hi Pascal,

thanks for your advice. I tried it out.

The jobs run for over 48h without results, so i stopped it.

I started the report manually and it called the Microsoft Word and a macro started generating my reports.

So i think its not possible to plan this as a background process, because of the missing Microsoft Word application on my Solution Manager Server?

Hi,

SAP answered my call.

The report RDSMOPREPGEN is not supported by SAP for SolMan 4.0.

It's only for the SolMan 3.1 supported.

At the moment there's no SAP solution to generate reports automatically.

I have to do a development request.

So I ask myself, is this problem really new?

i will try to set up the WWI Server..

Hi Mathias,

Look at WWI (Wordprocessor Integration) in WebAS. Basically, you need SM59 to point to your windows server containing the MS Word that will generate the documents. There are other config steps that you need ...

Note that you need to check the windows versions, word versions, etc ...
