We're trying to get the backup working for a new database server based on Itanium technology (IA64). SQL Server 2000 64-bit has been installed (SP4, 2039) and a SAP database had been attached (system copy method).
When we try to create new backups in our HP Dataprotector, there seems to be a communication problem between the SQL Server and the Dataprotecor Cellmanager. In de logfile on the client (SQL Server) we can see these entries:
6/15/2007 11:04:14 AM OB2BAR_Main.4472.344 ["integ/bar2/ob2common.c /main/dp55/dp55_fix/2":390] A.05.50 bDPWIN_00252
OB2_ConnectCsa: CsaInit(<<our_backup_server>>) failed. Error: [12:1604] Cannot reach the CRS on the Cell Manager system.
CRS on the Cell Manager host is not reachable or is not up and running.
System error: [10048] Can't assign requested address
There are no ports being blocked by firewalls or something. Our network guys have checked this and see no denials when the communication is initiated.
Has anybody seen a problem like this before? Please advise.
Can the name of <backup-server> resolved by your box?
nslookup <backup-server>
ping -a <backup-server>
