difference between field and a column

Hi All,

what exactly is the difference between FIELD and COLUMN. Are they both not same?

you have CL_SALV_WD_FIELD and also CL_SALV_WD_COLUMN.

what is the difference?

Hi Suresh,

The CL_SALV_WD_COLUMN is used to set the settings of the column. eg: setting visible property, changing the description, tooltip etc.,

The CL_SALV_WD_FIELD is used to set the settings of the field level. eg: setting filter field values
