can u give a brief with examples.....

There is no extended interfaces. You might be talking with regards to extension. Lets suppose if there is a standard idoc and it is not meeting to clients requirements. If we add two or three fields to the standard and then if it meets the clients needs then you will extend your Idoc or RFC according to your requirements. This is what we call extending an IDoc or RFC. You will import this into XI and will use them.

Do you mean extended option in Interface determination ?
This is only available from XI 3.0 SP14 and this used for mapping based message split...i.e 1:n without using BPM...
