Dear SRMers.
System Information: SRM 4.0
I manually added an approver X in the approver flow and ordered the shopping cart.
The approver flow says waiting for approver approval since 06-14-2007 9:51.
When I go to SOST, I do not see the email listed there.
Can some one please let me know what the problem may be.

Hello Bob,
1. First check whether the emails have been processed in the transaction SCOT.
2. If the emails were processed then you can see them in SOST.
3. IF you are unable to see the entry then goto BBP_PD and enter the shooping cart details.
4. Now you will see the Workflow details and here take the workitem and query it to SWI1 transaction. Now you can see the workitem information and the corresponding Agents list. IF you observe that the workitem is there with the correct agent , then you need to verify the email address SU01.
Please let me know if your problem still exists.

just use user profile transaction ,SU01 ->enter ur user id -> click on change mode ->now Fill ur email address -> see Communication type ( Choose Internet (SMTP).
still if you are not getting system does not have communication with internet.

Hi,
You need not go to SOST to see the approval work item.The Approval workitem can be seen in the tcode SBWP.In SOST,you wll have entries for outgoing emails from the SRM system to outside world like OUTLOOK,YAHOO(if configured).
You can just go to tcode SWIA and see whether the Approver has been found for the Approval and whether the Work item has gone to his Inbox.
