General Understanding SRM as Add-On to ECC 6.0

Since I checked in this forum there is no configuration guide for SRM as Add-On available I have some general problems. Does SRM Add-On as single client installation with ECC 6.0 require replication and download of data objects and do I have to maintain the middleware parameters? If it is like this I understand why tere is no specific configration guide for SRM as Add-On!

In Detail:

When I configure SRM as Add-On do I have to replicate objects like product, product category, customizing (UOM), vendor from the backend as in stand alone implementation?

Do I also have to replicate organizational structure via report from the backend or can I use the organizational structure form the backend directly for the SRM?

Do I have to download the locations from the backend?

Hi Dieter,

I'm also implementing ECC as an Add-on, the lack of a proper config guide from SAP is annoying. I can answer some of your questions

1. Replication of product, product category and vendors are done via the Master Data Syncronisation not via Middleware.

2. Not sure what you mean here.

3. Locations have to be transferred via BBP_LOCATIONS_GET_ALL/SELECTED.

Have you created your Backend destinations? If so what entries did you maintain?

Can you elaborate on the first answer about material replication in ECC 6.0 where SRM is an addon component.

How did you achieve this?

Master data synchronization ===?????

@ Chris: Thanx Chris for your help. More and more it becomes clear to me that SRM as ADD-On regarding configuration is not very different from SRM as stand alone implementation.

Topic 2: My expectation was that I can use directly the HR org. structure in the backend to determine workflow agents for release workflows of shopping carts and for assigning attributes. But it seem to be that I have to run report RHALEINI (Transaction PFAL) to replicate relevant org. objects to SRM. Is that right?

Hi

ECC 5.0 does not come with EBP or SRM. ECC 6.0 (ERP 2005) comes with SRM Server as an add-on. Only self service procurement and supplier enablement scenarios are supported. Not recommended for sourcing scenarios and multi-backend deployment options.
