SCM MAPPING

Dear All,

We have a scenario to be mapped in APO. One OEM with two aggregate plants, demand comes at zonal N fert level and get distributed to aggregate plants. Now want to map sister concern of parent into SCM as they cater requirement (Sub assemblies e.g. generator) to OEM and also for other customer ( Part of parent company)

Now as demand is at FERT level and distributed to sister concern and own requirement are generated manually.

Now how should i map that requirements in consensus as it is generated at FERT level. plus the requirements for other customer.

If you need further clarification then let me know..

Thanking IN Advance...

Hi Amol,

The scenario description has quite a bit of ambiguity.

Is this a better description of your requirement:

FG1 has demand requirements coming from different zones (or say customer locations) which are distributed to two aggregate plants (say AGG1 and AGG2). Subassembly for FG1 (generator) is produced by single sister plant (says SIS1) which supply it to both AGG1 and AGG2. The sub assembly is also sold as a standalong product (FG2) to other customers.

So the question is how to get the total requirements for the generator which is both a sub assembly for FG1 and also sold as a stand alone product FG2?

Please confirm.

If this is the case then you can potentially use DPBOM functionality purely for Demand Management purpose (not suggested for further supply and production planning).

FG2 can be mapped as a component (in the DPBOM) for FG1. So there will be dependent demand for FG2 coming from FG1 at the aggregate plants and independent demand from the other customers who are sold as a standalone product.

Alternatively you can always plan for FG1 and FG2 separately. In SNP or PPDS the BOM explosion for FG1 will put in dependent requirement for FG2 at SIS1. There will be demand for FG2 from other customers. So there is Fct Req and Component Requirement for FG2 at SIS1 which can be covered by receipt elements upon SNP or PPDS Heuristic runs.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Somnath
