Hi,
Now iam into ABAP/4 Programming, planning to upgrade my skill set with Netweaver concepts. Can any one tell me the future of SAP Netweaver.
And how far it is true that the companies, which implemented SAP R/3 will be going for Netweaver.
Any suggestions and guidance would be appreciated.
Regards,
Anuhya
Hi Anuhya,
If you are an ABAP programmer, you are on your way to NetWeaver already. The next version of R/3 will be running on the NetWeaver platform. So any R/3 customers will through eventual R/3 upgrades be running NetWeaver.
An easier way to think about it is that NetWeaver is the new SAP "Basis" system. It is really much more than that but for now think of it that way. It is really the Web AS 6.40 that brings the functionality. It includes both the ABAP and Java development environments.
There is a book "NetWeaver for Dummies" that will fill in the details. Also, look into classes on the SAP website.
NetWeaver is here to stay. Good luck.
Regards,
John
