SDM server not up after ... seconds. waiting for another 5 seconds.

Hi SDN,

everytime when I patch my SAP EP 6.0 SPSXX I get the follwoing message "SDM server not up after ... seconds. waiting for another 5 seconds." in the cmd.exe.log at the step

"Deploy off-line"

The enque and the message server are running, status GREEN. The rest of the J2EE is GRAY. After 600 seconds does SAP J2EE restart.

Is that way OK?

Can anyone explain these steps?

I've the same problem. But when I change the mode to "standalon" I can execute StartServer.sh and work's.

But in this mode ... I can't deploy directly using NWDS.

on the j2ee prespective I cannot see the SDM server.

any idea?

Olaf are you on a single CPU box? If so, it'll be pretty slow...

You can check your system logs to see if it's starting up OK (but taking a long time) or if there is an error during startup...

My SDM Server gives up after 600 seconds.

What does that mean?

Olaf, that seems too long. Does it start up if you try to manually start it up?

If not I would try starting it up manually and then post the error logs here.

It is Ok it takes time. If sdm does not start at all it might be because the sdm is not integrated into the jstartup framework.

In case you need to add the sdm into the framework you can check the help file available in the server that relates to adding the sdm into the jstartup framework.
