Resource Integration between R/3 and APO

Hi Folks,

I just realized that the definitions for the work centers in R/3 is not being transferred to APO thus, data such as shift definition and breaks are not transferred. Aside from manual maintenance is there any other strategy for this?

Hi there

If you have APO release of 4.0 or greater then see SAP Note Note 674838 - "Resource transfer from APO Release 4.0"

This explains how to use the external capacities and the customizing settings to achieve this, though there are restrictions to it's use which are also explained in this note. This will not give you entirely what you want as the external capacity does not replace the APO capacity but may enable you to achieve your end requirements.
