Hi,

if you're an official SAP customer, please open an official OSS message on queue BC-DB-LVC(-INS). An open Telnet-connection would greatly ease and speedup the analysis of the issue.

My 2 cts on your issue:

I suggest you check the liveCache software installation using 'sdbverify' to make sure that at least the software is installed correctly and all permissions are set as they should. Note <a href="https://websmp104.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=01100107900000000342&_EVENT=DISPL_TXT&_NNUM=546737&_NLANG=EN>">546737</a> shows more details about sdbverify.

I think the sapinst.log and XCMDOUT.LOG look rather strange, because the sapinst.log shows the liveCache sid to be 'ALP", whereas XCMDOUT.LOG shows DBMCLI commands to a liveCache instance named 'dbciASP' .

I don't think the 'dbciASP' is correct! Can't realy tell where it came from though, without a connection.

ASP is the SAP SID, dbciASP is the cluster package name and ALP is the livecache SID. No problems were detected with sdbverify so I guess I will open that OSS.

Thanks

Sry, my mistake, you're right, 'dbciASP' is the node-name, not the liveCache SID.

Do you see any errors in the xserver protocolfile in the /sapdb/data/wrk directory?

Indeed there are some errors in xserver_afatlas1.prt

2007-06-13 22:20:41 11170 WNG 12458 XSERVER NISSL Utility init: CDKLoadSAPCryptModule: 51

2007-06-13 22:20:43 11173 ERR 11926 XSERVER Receive packet, Ref:9 - socket recv error (14:Bad address)

But I am not too sure how to fix it.....

Hi Peter,

if you didn't already do so, please now open an OSS message and make sure a Telnet-connection is possible to the machine in question.

Support will need to have access to the OS level to analyze this issue. Support will need to check if the software really was installed correctly and if registration was done properly.
