We are trying to evaluate the capabilities of SAP MDM for managing our Master Data. We are a production Unit and have a lot of Production related master data like BoM's, Routings, QM Master data (inspection plans etc.). Besides that, there is the usual master data like Purchasing Info records etc. Can SAP MDM handle this kind of master data, whether in the existing or forthcoming releases?
Currently, MDM covers Vendor, Customer, Material and Employee hubs.
In fact, MDM features a flexible model-driven approach to master data, but out-of-the box support for R/3-type BoMs is not included in short-term planning.
