APO5.0 and ECC6.0 Integration: Bother Servers have different databases

Hi,

1) The 2 servers APO5.0 and ECC6.0 that we are using are in 2 different VLANs.Now How do I find out that APO5.0 and ECC6.0 are connected or not?

2) To my understanding; there are no R/3 plug-in settings need to be done separately in APO5.0 and ECC6.0. Then what other pre-requisites I must take care of before starting with my CIF configs?

3) This APO5.0 server has SQL database and ECC6.0 has Oracle database system. Is this a point of concern for integration models operations?
