Hi Guys,

I am new to SAP, so excuse my lack of knowledge.

Which tool do I need to install if I want to use SAP DMS (Document Management System)?

Can SAP DMS be configured to read from a Documentum repository?

Is it a good idea to configure SAP DMS to read from a Documentum repository or is better to migrate it all to SAP repository?

Hello Michael,

to use SAP DMS you just need any SAP ERP system, it is an integral part of ERP.

Documentum repository can not be configured directly. Therefore you would need an Integration software. This is being provided by Documentum.

I would rather recommend to use SAP repository which is the so called Content Server. It is an own DB for documents - delivered free to our customers. It runs on an extra machine. So you can put security mechansims on it like miroring etc.
