SAP SRM - ERP INTEGRATION

Former Member

Hello,

we are designing application architecture. Our landscape is:

- ECC 6.0

- SRM 5.0

- XI 7.0

We are thinking of using XI as middleware even for those scenario in which in not required (es. Contract Managament):

In particular every time we have a communication based on IDOC we want to use XI as communication middleware. Pure RFC integration will not use XI.

Has anyone some experience on this?

Thanks

antonio

Hi Antonio,

why do you want to set everything to XI overall?

The standard used RFC in several areas and it is working well. By using XI you

step aside from standard and getting support might be really difficult.

For Contract Management I would not go for XI. There are always enhancements

needed for that sceanario, why it is good to rely on the Idoc communication.

Thanks,

Claudia

Hi Atul

I was evaluating the possible integration of SRM2.0 with ERP 2005 for a client. But after going through the notes mentioned in your posts, I came to know that integration of SRM2.0 with ERP 2005 is not possible.

Thanks and Best Regards

Ajay
