Hi!
We have installed a SAPGUI Installation Server and rolled out SAPGUI Patch Level 1 to several PC's using LSH. So far no problems...
But now we had to patch the Installation Server to Patch Level 2. This was no problem, too. The clients check for an update every 5 launches; are finding the update and prompt the user to update. But this process fails on every client when the user has no admin rights (yes, LSH is still configured!)!
Some lines from the log file NwSapSetup.log:

Hallo Zusammen

Try SAP Note 508649 & SAP Note 593486..
Note 593486/point 11.
Reconfiguring LSH / starting it "
<I-server>\<Share>\setup\NWSapadminsetup.exe
Led to the "Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 wizard",
following the instructions of the 'error'-message did not initially solve the problem,
(Just trusting "NWSAPAdminsetup.exe')
But using the second 'Icon', ..'Trust an assembly', And then 'trusting All assemblies from SAP'.. Seemed to have solved the problem.
We did reconfigure the LSH using this method as well...
And it seems to work fine now..

Hello.
This will probably annoy you, but, I have had a lot of similar problems with the GUI installation from the server, and after a lot of analyzing, I have realized that whenever I get the error LOCAL SECURITY HANDLING FAILED, it means thet there is really something wrong with LSH.
So re-check and triple check.

Hi !
Same issue here..
The SAPGUI Installation Server was brought to Patch Level 3.
When a non-administrator tries to manually start NWSAPSetup..
A Messagbox appears saying: Sapsetup was not able to grant you administrator rights, either because:
- The distribution service didn't respond..
- The installation service didn't start
- The logon credentials for the installation service are incorrect.
Looking into the log:

So any help appreciated how to solve this?

Hi Martin
I am even one step behing. We only installed the Installation Server an Patched it to the latest Release and afterwards we configured LSH. As soon as we have a user who would like to install a package (via command line) the installation fails. Any progress from your side during the last weeks?
