Error installing SAP 4.7 IDES MDB-06029 caught exception

Hello Gurus,

Let me appreciate all your help and support for new guyz like me.

I am trying to install the SAP 4.7 IDES on a system

Configuration:

--250 GB HDD

--2 GB DDR RAM

-- 2.4 GHZ celeron processor

-- Win 2K SP4 OS

during installation installed i did the following process

--Installing loopback adapter

--Installing JAVA

--Installing oracle 9.2

--R3 kernel

-- Completed the Central instance without any problem

-- When continuing with the database instance i am getting the following error message ( Selected local installation)

Please suggest me if I am doing any thing wrong or is there any thing i need to take care of ?

Hi Venu,

I also need the Installation steps for IDES 4.7 , my mail ID <b>samal.shashi@gmail.com.</b>

Usually i get an error message after successfull installation of SAP on windows 2003 server SP2. The error mesage is for java.exe.

<b>like java.exe encountered some problem</b>. each time u start OS, this message pops up. It dont harm any SAP applications.I also tried to install the new version of java i.e J2SE 1.5.2, but the same error message arise everytime.

please guide me by sending me the updated installation steps.

Did you install Oracle 8 or Oracle 9.

Could it be that you have installed oracle 9, but your cds/dvds are meant for oracle 9.

I am looking at your post here and it states that you are installing this on oracle 9, but in your logs it states oracle 8.

please check and clarify.

when installing the central instance you where already asked for the passwords of the SAP Operating system users SIDadm and SAPServiceSID.

If you start subsequent installation steps as database instance you have to use the same passwords as you have specified in Central instance installatin.

sapinst will only set the password for a user which it is creating. It will never change the password of an existing user.

I have used the same password in the Central Instance which i have given During DataBase instance. but still i get this error.

and I read

DbSl Trace: Database instance dev is running on DEV with ORACLE version 8.1.7.0.0 since 20070610

from tracefile, I do not believe you that you are running the same username/password in both installations (central instance / DB instance).

maybe you are mixing up local / domain installation or somebody has change the password of the devadm user after finishing the database instance installation.

hi Gurus,

One of my friend suggested that i shouldnt install the central and database instances in the administrator logon, so i used the DEVADM login to install the Instances and i have got a total different error

i am using the same enviornment which i have mentioned before

Hi,

from which login did u installed CI.? Use adminsistrator or a user with administrator privileage to install the SAP (both CI and DI)..In ur case if ur install CI in administratr, continue installing the DI with administrator login
