How to stop backup process in running condition ?

Dear All ,

We have HP-UX servers and DLT VS80 backup device.

We take offline backup weekly. We use DB13 TCode.

If we want to stop " running BACKUP" process , What is the right procedure to follow. Which unix commands we should use ?????

Pl' give details.

In running condition if we stop , can we continue our normal work on server that time ?

r there any effects ?

I thought you want deshedule the backup !! if offline backup are running system is down anyway .. it would be great if you can wait until its comepleted or findout brbackup process at OS level and kill it .That will end the backup and you can start the SAP but there are chances for tablesoace to remain in offline line status then you have to manually make it online.

Pl' give steps ....

I have no idea how to stop brbackup at OS level..

Presently,We have no power supply backup for AC unit in case of power failure to maintain the temp. 20degree for running servers with 24 hrs. backup process . So we to stop this in running condition . To do this i want the right procedure.

At least we will switch off the server systematically.
