Hi Bala,

Login as <SID>adm check whether TNSListener is running in services.

Goto command prompt type TNSPING <hostname>, check it whether it excecutes successfully or not and check to which port number (Ex:-1521) it connecting to.

Then goto tnsnames.ora file and check port numer to which Listener connecting to if it is same as (Ex:-1521) above.

Check whether database is up and running.

How to check?

goto run and type sqlplus "/as sysdba"

If you get Ideal Instance as a result use STARTUP command to start database.

You should have applied the latest database patch (9.2.0.8) BEFORE your start installing the database instance.

> CJS-00084 SQL statement or script failed. DIAGNOSIS:

> Error message: ORA-01092: ORACLE instance terminated.

> Disconnection forced.

Check your Oracle alert log for possible reason, your database crashed (maybe due to a too low patchlevel).
