Hi
when i tried to open mmc, i am getting error "get process list failed:80004005".
after that mmc will open.
the message server is ok, but the dispatcher is not starting.
can any one help me.
thank you
Hi,
For solving the MMC problem, you can open the new MMC
Goto start->run->mmc and give enter..
MMC windows opens
Goto File>add/remove snap-in> add--> select SAP systems manager and click OK
It opens a window give next and enter your sytem and instance details and give OK
and close the window by giving OK.
You will find the new console , save the console in the name of SAPMMC.msc in the system32 folder where it will ask for replacing of already existing file.
You give yes to overwrite the file . The next time you open the mmc u will not get the process error.
In normal scenario :-Always remember while closing the console when it prompts for save the settings give No.
For Dispatcher problem,
Pls verify the error logs in the work directory...
Check the log file dev_disp and dev_w0 for the dispatcher errors. If possible send the error i will try to give you the solution.

when you last exited from SAPMMC, it asked you to save, if you answered YES and you were deep in the sub-tre, such as the leaf containing processes, it will save this location. the next time when you open SAPMMC, this "leaf" is not available yet and you get error 80004005. To correct this, click on on the SID and then click on SAVE. To test this, close MMC and restart it, error should go away
now, the fact that disp+work turns gray has nothing to do with the previous error, please supply contents of file dev_w0.

Sounds like an old mmc lurking around in your system32.
It does not get updated by a kernel patch.
Get the latest mmc from the SAPNet kernel download page, copy it into system 32 and regsvr32 it.
