Difference between SAP R/3 and SAP NetWeaver

I am new in the world of SAP and i want to know : What is the difference between SAP R/3, SAP NetWeaver and mySAP ?

Actually The PDF is shortened one..just to know the basics of netweaver.

The site where I got that book is also having the same pages.

may be it's a complimentory copy..

If you want to know more about mySAP

Just use help.sap.com and search for what ever you want. else search in SDN itself.

I think It's there in one of the link provided to you

SAP stands for "systems, applications and products in data processing".

SAP is a ERP Package. Other ERP Package can't reach client requirements like integration with other modules. in SAP, integration with other modules are successfully implemented. So now a days so many companies going for SAP.

Hi,

SAP NetWeaver is the latest advancement in the SAP Technology.

Net Weaver in simple words is an application and Integration platform in which Web Services play a major role and which is open for Non-SAP applications and platform.

For example, If you want to connect SAP to Java or to Dotnet or whichever language,

you will be having connectors/adapters to have a provision for that.

You can combine various information coming from different soureces in a single window.

Portal is a one of the component of SAP NW which provides role based( Manager or team member) access to services.

XI is another component, which provides platform to integrate heterogenious systems and enabling them to exchange the data/information.
