Hi All,

I have just installed a new XI system and now when i run Transaction SXMB_IFR it starts a windows explorer instead of Internet browser. I have checked in SICF and all the services are active.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Fahad

Not seen it mentioned elsewhere but if you have no browser associated with http then you may see the scenario you described (SAP tries to launch the default application associated with HTTP). From your description of the problem there is no issue with the URL, just the actual browser launch.

The way to test is to goto:

START->Run

then type in

http://www.sap.com

This should start your internet explorer (or firefox) and goto the page. If it does not, then load the browser manually and use the options to "make default browser". If you dont have admin rights on your machine/account then you may hit issues. It may be worth doing that anyhow just to see if it fixes any registry corruption.

Cheers

James.

Hi,

You can also check by port 50100 instead of 50000 if you are using PI 7.0 as:

First specify the name of your XI server with ip address in your local hosts file...thats located in this folder

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc.

Then try.It should work. If its not specified, itprompts the error message and opens that windows explorer. It would be so fast that you can't even observe that it has thrown an error and redirected.

Hope this helps.

FBK,

Also check this thread for verifying the settings:

FBK,

Try opening the URL from browser directly:

http://<host-name or IP address of XI server>:<java Port number)>/rep/start/index.jsp

for eg:

http://SERVERXI:50000/rep/start/index.jsp
