Hi Experts:
I was going through a presentation titles "SAP NetWeaver BI - Portal Integration (Federated Portal) (94)". On slide 7 a screen shot is displayed showing a BW Report without a Portal Desktop. I need to know how will a user access multiple reports without a navigation in place i.e without the portal desktop.
Any inputs will be highly appreciated.
You can also publish the role object in a BW web template and access that from your BW ITS or WAS layer. By so doing any users accessing that path will dynamically have their reports available to them that you have published to them in BW.
Another alternative is to provide them with the direct URL paths for the reports published, or to allow them to access the bex reports through excel.
I trust this answers your questions.

In addition it would be important to understand the roles delegations within SAP BW in order to know how to publish content specific information from within your queries in BW. You may also want to get hold of a technical BW expert in guiding you through this process. This information is outlined in this document, but is in no way complete in its scope, there are many consideration your business will need to take into account in the manner in which your BW implementation was initialy designed and deployed that will impact your descions.
Hi,
If you have a BW Report IView and you do not want to show it as an IView in Portal Framework page (Portal desktop).
Then you can run your Iview directly by calling the URL as:
http://<server>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/<PCD_PATH>;
Replace <PCD PATH> with the pcd path of the iView. But be aware that you have to replace the chars ":" (with !3a) and "/" (with !2f).
In the end it should look like this
