External Applicants(Public) to post applications

Hi,

As per the R/3 documentation, PBW3_TC internet service can be used for the external applicants to post applications for the job openings.

Does this mean, can we allow public to log into our R/3 system?

When we tried this service through ITS, it asks for authentication, that means it requires a SAP user id and password, which the public users would not have. Is there a way to bypass this authentication? If yes, what sort of security issues would be faced and how to mitigate the security problems.

Anticipating your help at the earliest.

Regards

Sundar

Hello Sundar,

you should create a special User in your R/3 system with only the access rights which are neded to run this internet service. This username/password can be placed in the service file via the variables ~user ~password. The Internet User will not see them and get logged in automaticaly.

Gregor,

Could you elaborate on the security needs for this to happen? We are also in the same situation. Are there any special authorizations needed for this user? Must it be a service user?

Also what is the exact syntax the user information that must be added in the services file? We want to be able to create an external URL so that internet users may access our online job applications.

Any more detail on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Joe
