Is it possible to install Solution Manager and NetWeaver EP at same platform?
I want to install Solution manager and Sap NetWeaver Enterprise Portal at same platform.
That time: is the structure like below ?
ABAP instance for Sol.Man --> 00
J2EE instance for Sol.Man --> 01
Database instance for Sol.Man
ABAP instance for NW EP --> 02
J2EE instance for NW EP --> 03
NW EP component
Database instance for NW EP
Must I install 2 times of ABAP,J2EE and DB?
I need some guidance about this installations.
Thanks
Hello Cemil,
Please, install both systems in the same server, always that the portal role is development for example but I should strongly recommend not to share the ABAP or the J2EE instance, for sure not!!!!!
Install two DB or use one database with MCOD, but please install the complete ABAP+J2EE stack for both.
Hope this helps,
Dolores
Hi Dolores,

So, can your reply be understood as below:

(1) Install 1 ABAP+J2EE instance for Enterprise Portal
(2) Install one more ABAP+J2EE instance for Solution Manager
(3) DB can be either two instances one for each or else the same DB can be shared by both.
(4) All these instances 2 ABAP, 2 J2EE, 1 or 2 DB can all be installed in the same server.
(5) And this EP installation can only be used for development purposes.

And will you pls let us know whether there is any specific reason behind why the ABAP & J2EE instances should not be shared by EP & SolMan?
Hi,
Enterprise portal & Solution Manager are applications running on top of J2EE & ABAP engines. I dont think that you have to install J2EE & ABAP instances 2 times.
best regds,
