Hi,

Rounding Profile given in Material master and info record plays the same

role.

Use:

Use a rounding profile if we want to round the procurement quantities

which can be delivered or procured

A rounding profile consists of threshold value and rounding value

If the requirements lies below the threshold value the system does not rounds up

If the requirements exceeds the threshold value the system always rounds

up.

Hi,

The reason that the same option is available on the material master and the info record is as follows.

A material is normally purchased in quantities of 10, 20, then 100 etc. The material master can store the rounding profile to indicate this. But you have ONE vendor that supplies the asm item in boxes of 5, 15, 25, 50 etc. and so you can use the rounding profile on the info record.

that way when you order this item from that vendor it will be rounded to 5, 15, 25 etc. If you order it from any other vendor it will use the settings from the material master record 10, 20 then 100 etc.

So it allows the default from the material master unless a more specific default exists on the info record.

Hi Hanuma,

Adding to Steve's comment.

A practical example is when you are procuring material from the vendor and say the rounding value is 10 specified in the material master, and lets say that the qty in the PO is 5, then the system will automatically change it to 10.

guys please correct me if im wrong.

thanks

Hi,

The Info record data is used in the PO, the material master data is only used if no info record is relevant..

So the Info record data takes precedent.

Pressing F1 on either will give you a FULL explanation of what they do. (it is the same help in both because they are the same function.
