Develop the specification for the GUI (Graphical User Interface) for the Student Record System (refer to the statement given at the end). This includes the GUI layout and description with respect to the use cases (you have developed before).

"You need to first identify the University and then list the different programs/degrees in which it can enroll the students, list all of its departments, and list the faculty (with designation) in each department. It should include the criteria for admission into each program and the selection process. This should also include admission on all kinds of quotas and on sports basis. This should include student enrollment, registration in different course, and record of different courses taken. It should include all the use cases and description of various processes and rules.

Dear Saba,

1. First you would need to identify how many screens you would like to have and what is navigation.

For example, in first screen you could give options for navigations to other screens which could contain list of different programs/degrees (which may include criterion for admission for each program or you could design one more screen for it), list of departments, and the list of faculty. You could have these three lists in different screens.

Regarding the preparation of functional specification refer to your earlier thread which has been asnwered.

You would need to decide how many screens you would like to have. How many fields in each screen, how many buttons so that you could navigate to other screesn.

You can have university logo in the main screen and various options like Programs/Degrees, Department, Faculty (it can be a further navigation from Department or in main screen as per your requirement)

Upon the selection of Programs/Degrees you would need to display the Programs/Degrees. From here you can navigate to criteria for admission.

Upon selection of Departments you would need to display the Departments. From here you can navigate to Faculty.

You would need to decide from which tables are you going to fetch the data of programs/degrees, departments, faculty, criterion for selection.

Hope this will help.

Regards,

Naveen.

Hi,

it would be helpful if you could describe what you intend to do and the project you are working on. That would help us to understand what you are looking for and all people to better respond to your question.

In fact SAP has a product which offers a GUI for a student record with most of the information you have listed in your question. We offer also the ability to extend the view with customer specific needs and also offer services to use various types of GUI technologies.

The discussion might be completely different if you are looking for tailoring the existing GUI in our product, if you intend to compose an application based on SAPs plattform or build something from the scratch. The last case seem to me the least valuable one.

Best regards

Joachim

You can find very general information on CM on the SAP website

www.sap.com/higher-ed

More specific information is also available on the service marketplace (you need to have access rights here, e. g. being an SAP partner)

service.sap.com/higher-ed

Online documentation is also available through

help.sap.com - Navigate to SAP ERP and the ERP central component. In the SAP library you will find a chapter on Campus Management.

We can put you in contact with a regional representative from SAP who can help you with further question and also respond to questions about license requirements (if you are an end customer) or possible partner opportunities (if you want to support a customer with an SAP based solution). You can write me an email and I will forward your contact (I just need to know where you are comming from, which company you are working for and your specific request (customer, partner)).
