Hello experts,
I am trying to install NWDS 2004S SP9 on my Windows XP system with Max DB as database.
But the installation does not go ahead of Create Database Schema stage.
I have even seen installation logs and did not find any problem.
I even kept the installation going on for 3-4 days, but this stage remains the same.
Please guide me why is it so and what could be done to complete installation?
Regards,
Ashutosh
Hello,
Problem:
If the database manager operator (control) user password contains the character "@", the db_create command gets stuck. If the database system administrator (superdba) user password contains the character "@", the db_activate command gets stuck. If the database user password contains the character "@", the "create user" command gets stuck.
Solution
Make sure you do not enter "@" in a database password.
-> Are you using the special characters in the passwords selected during the installation?
Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina

Wow dude!
It realy worked
Indeed we were using @ in our password.
We simply changed password style and it worked.
Sorry dude, but I cannot give you more points than this (even I wish to)
I hope SAP will document this problem in installation guide so that many people can avoid such situation.
Thanks a lot once again.
I appreciate your help.
Regards,
Ashutosh
