Central Instance on i5 and Windows Application Server x64

Hi all

I have DB & CI ECC 6.0 on i5 and I have installed an application server on Windows 64 bit box (x64).

Work processes (actual kernel patch level 80) on application are continuously restarting with failure disp+work in msvcrt.dll

I tried to update kernel to patch level 102 (the last released) but the situation is going worse: work processes died and trace files don't show any message error.

Any idea, hint, tip?

Thanks a lot, regards.

Hi Raffaele,

the situation with 102 will be caused by the effect, that you did not restart the CI on i5 ... then SAP doesn't "like" the new kernel.

=> you should restart the complete SAP system - even on i5 => it either works on Windows or you should see a similar error message ...

What OS are you using ? Win 2003 ?

Hi Volker

it seems that kernel patch level 102 (restarted CI too!) fixes the problem.

I will confirm on tomorrow.

Thank you very much.

Hi

with kernel patch level 102 the problem is still alive.

The workprocess sometimes restarts with Exception c0000005.

Have a look at attached trace. Any idea?

Thanks

You can try and install the latest R3DLLINST, maybe another software you installed after you installed the DLLs did update msvcrt.dll (e. g. printer drivers, backup software etc.)
