More information
This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:
Internet connectivity has been lost.
The website is temporarily unavailable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
Of course, we didn't have this when I was the basis administrator on version 4.0B so I don't even know where to begin to correct it. I can tell you that our internet connection works just fine.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hi Bob,
did you have a look to c:\windoes\SAPDOCCD.log ?
There you should find the URL, that is called and then you should try with your DEFAULT web browser, if this works ...
I assume, you are NOT using the file c:\windoes\SAPDOCCD.ini ...

Hi, Volker
I don't have a "C:\WINDOWS\SAPDOCCD.ini" file, so I must assume that I'm not using it.
Here are the contents of the "C:\WINDOWS\DAPDOCCD.log" file:
Program path = C:Program FilesSAPFrontEndSAPguiHTMLHELPSHH.EXE
SHH version = 6.2.0.4

Any suggestions?
Hi Bob,
ok, now I understand, you are still usign html helpfile which is a pretty old way, that runs into trouble with latest XP security patches ;-((
=> I always setup the following way in SR13:
PlainHtmlHttp
Variante Plattform Bereich Server Pfad Sprache Default
help32en WN32 IWBHELP help.sap.com saphelp_erp2005/helpdata EN Yes
The path needs to be searched from your site for your release - I think 4.7 ... (but it is there as well)
=> you always use the latest help from SAP from the internet and don't need this help server anymore

Hi, Volker
Thanks for the information.
Unfortunately, when I attempt to enter the variant under SR13, I receive this error:
Only define one default value for operating system WN32 and area IWBHELP
Message no. H2716
There are no variants at all in any of the tabs so I don't understand this error.
Is there something else that I need to do?
Thanks!
Robert
I am having a similar problem. I am supporting a customer using their VPN. It does in fact shut off other internet access, but one would think that the system could be re-directed somehow to another copy of the help files.
Am getting the message "This program cannot display the webpage" when I double-click on an error message, but not for normal help.
I have applied Note 950975 - SAP GUI for Windows: Support for IE7 (Internet Explorer 7) (I'm at SAP GUI 640 Final Release, patch level 23).
Any insights will be appreciated....
