BASIS check after H/W, OS & DB upgrade

Hi

At present we are on R/3 46C,Oracle 8i, HP UX 11i.

Our exisiting H/W, OS and DB is being upgraded to meet the demand for future ECC upgrade. This upgrade is done by a seperate vendor.

Present:

SAP KERNEL 4.6D 64-BIT

DB ORACLE 8.1.7

OS HPUX 11.11/PA-RISC

After the H/W,OS & DB upgrade, the configuration will be as below,

Future:

SAP KERNEL 4.6D 64-BIT

DB ORACLE 9.2 64-BIT

OS HPUX 11.23/IA64 64BIT

After the successful upgrade, what are key checks that we have to perform from BASIS side to ensure that everything works fine before releasing the system to end users.

Pls drop your valuable thoughts on this regard.

regards,

Vinodh.

as you're performing a system copy (pa-risc -> ia64) you'll need to perform all checks mentioned in the relevant guide and the relevant sapnotes...

The first check you have to do is SICK.Then, launch a SM50 to see every processes fine and try to launch a database tool through DB13.If theses first checks are OK, it's a good beginning !!!

Install Kernel 4.6D_EXT

and I'd recommend upgrading to Oracle 10g instead of Oracle 9i. Extended support for 9.2 is valid until 31st of July 2008, after that you need to install 10g. ECC 6 also needs 10g.

After the upgrade check that your printers are installed and working.
