LiveCache Server

Hi,

As we know, APO work with LiveCache. that is, i want to install a LiveCache Server before install SCM 5.0. So i download a LiveCache installtion guide from SAP web site. against the installtion guide, i can select SAP NetWeaver 2004s /Standalone Engines /liveCache Server /liveCache Server Instance, then install the LiveCache Server. but in my welcome screen of installtion, just ONE optional LiveCache Client, that is i can not find out the menu to install LiveCache Server on Bs2005 install master DVD.

i assume that JRE has been installed.

my SW prepairation: BS_2005_SR2_SAP_Installation_Master

IVECACHE:7.60_ 51032259

The LiveCache Server is the necessary SW for SCM5.0?

that is, if i did not install the Live Cache server and just install the LivaCache Client, my SCM 5.0 can work normally?

Hello Karl,

1) To run APO you need the liveCache server. Please review the document at

service.sap.com/scm -> SAP SCM Technology

"Architecture overview" < on the right > && "Installation and Upgrade overview"

-> Some applications will not work on your system. For example, APO applications.

Please review the document "Architecture overview" & please let me know, if you are going to run APO. If yes => you need the liveCache server to be installed.

If you are SAP customer:

A) Please check at service.sap.com/pam or at

service.sap.com/liveCache -> Release Information

-> SAP LC/LCAPPS 5.0 ->

Matrix of released OS platforms for SAP liveCache Technology 7.6.0

if the OS of the server is supported for the liveCache installation.

For example, DB-Client database software only released for Application

Server on WIN SERVER 2003 32-BIT.

B) Did you follow the liveCache installation guide? You could find the

liveCache installation guide at

service.sap.com/instguides -> SAP Business Suite Applications ->

SAP SCM -> Using SAP SCM 5.0 Server ->

"Installation - SAP liveCache Technology on Win - NW 7.0 SR2"

Or

"Installation - SAP liveCache Technology on UNIX - NW 7.0 SR2"
