Hi,
My company is implementing SAP and I would like to have a two IDES server to be able to test and learn the basis stuff. (e.g. STMS etc)
The default IDES ECC 6 SQL db is around 150GB. Is there not a smaller IDES db? I don't need all the (functional) data, just a ECC 6.0 installation that I can use to get some knowledge.
Is there a solution or do I need to use the big IDES db that eats up a lot of diskspace?
Thanks!

Hello Veen,
If you will install the IDES of ECC 6.0 then it will take 150 Gb. there are not such a option to select some part or something like that. if you want to use only basis stuffs and dont want to go for a big diskspace then only one option is that just install the lower version of IDES, such as R/3 4.7, it will take around 80 Gb diskspace but it is a lower version. there are some differences in both version.
Note: i would suggest to go with ECC 6.0 IDES it will help you when you will go for a update you can perform all the spam/saint update on IDES first, it will work as a test server .
Hope it helps
