Is it necessary to update SAP GUI?

Hello everyone!

I just would like to ask if is it really necessary to update the SAP GUI that an organization is using?

In our organization, a lot of people is still using very low versions of SAP GUI although some already runs the latest version (is 6.40 the latest version? ^_)

Btw, 7.10 is the latest version (for Windows).
