Can we change a Valuation Class of a Material if material has stock or is in PO?

If yes How?

Thank you for posting your query. Apparently, your question relates to FI-relevant settings in the R/3 Material Master. Therefore, we recommend you post an OSS message in the Service Marketplace (http://service.sap.com/).

SAP MDM is aimed at consolidating and harmonizing master data within a system landscape consisting of heterogeneous application systems. Therefore, the communication processes between the central Master Data Data Server (MDS) and the Master Data Clients( MDC) are designed to determine whether identical master data objects exist within the landscape, to derive synegies from that knowledge (by enabling e.g. cross-group evaluations), and to improve the overall data quality (e.g. my merging attributes of determined identical master data objects.

Dear Mr. Rai,

Here is one additional remark from my side:

Although the Product data model on the Master Data Server (MDS) can easily be enhanced with additional attributes, a Central Master Data Management scenario for Products should only be applied for processes that involve less implications. Therefore, the "valuation class" cannot be changed, because this might corrupt data in the local MDCs.
