Change from Base Unit to Sales Unit

Dear Experts

pls guide me on this :

Business scenario

Previously the sales was in Base unit of measure

Presently the sales is changed to a sale unit with conversion defined

What will be effect on Future Returns Sales order which has reference to past orders (which were in base unit) ?

According to SAP Note : 138767, change materials metric units, the system will detect the following :

The base unit must not be defined as an alternative unit of measure for the materialThe base unit must not be defined as an alternati ve unit of measure for the material

No International Article Number must be assigned to the base unitNo International Article Number must be assign ed to the base unit

No proportion/product units must be defined for the materialNo proportion / product units must be defined az r the material
