Thanking you,
Suneel.
Hello Suneel,
You can check the SAP help. The site gives a good explanation of the IT/business scenarios where BW and APO can help.
Here is the link for BW:

Here is the link for APO:

Here's an overview:
SAP BI/BW helps to organize the company's information/knowledge and makes it available for business decisions. For example, you can consolidate data from different OLTP systems (SAP or Non-SAP) and also integrate market research from other companies (e.g. AC Nielsen). After consolidation, you can use reporting tools like BeX web designer, BeX broadcaster (distribute information), Reporting Agent (pre-calculation, exception repoirting etc).
APO Demand Planning (DP) helps you forecast future demand trends using information in the past (e.g. predict trends for year 2007 based on sales for 2005 and 2006). You can generate statistical forecast, integrate one time events (promotions), use lifecycle modelling (phase-in/out, like modelling) etc. You can then transfer the forecast to R/3 (or ECC) and other APO systems (e.g. SNP, PP/DS).
Hope this helps.
