Hi, I'm new in applying support packages and basis.
I've installed NW2004 and applyied some pachs. Almost all the patchs get a freeze processing in "dd activation" then I stopped the transaction, tryied again and the process got finished (I don't know why this behaviour).
Now I'm trying to process a queue with basis patchs from 15 to 20 and abap also 15 to 20. The process get freezed as in the previous patchs, but when I cancel and try to continue it still gets freeze in "dd activation". Last lines of log shows:
-
Import phase 'RUN_SPDD_?' (31.05.2007, 07:50:32)
Import phase 'RUN_SPDD_?' was already processed -> skip phase
-
Import phase 'DDIC_ACTIVATION' (31.05.2007, 07:50:32)
Import phase 'DDIC_ACTIVATION' was already processed -> skip phase
-
Import phase 'IMPORT_PROPER' (31.05.2007, 07:50:32)
Could any guru help me?
Thanks in advance,
Paulo
Paulo, boa tarde.
Você conhece bem a fase de IMPORT_PROPER na hora de atualizar Support Packages ?
Grato,
Thiago

Dear,
As per SAP recommendation,
1. go for latest SPAM/SAINT upgrade patch
2, then install latest SAP_BASIS patches, before applying patches read corresponding SAP note & define proper queue. Once the queue is selected start patching
3, go for SAP_ABA etc...
Do not put all patches altogether, sometime system resources may not be sufficient and system will hang.
Answer for question
-
1. if its stuck in DDIC_activation, check tp system log, what is says..
sometimes it may hang due to RDDIMPDP job is not running properly.
2. Check tp is running
if nothing is happening u have to start patching at OS level using tag spam command.
Its risky to play with OS commands if u r not master in applying patches.
please log call with SAP.
