Hi,
Can someone explain the ESA architecture with a real time example?
regrds,
Awaiz
Hello Ahmed,
Before knowing Enterprise services you must understand web services, i have detailed below with some information for you to get some idea, hope it helps you to some extent.
Web services
Open standard for system interaction independent of technical architecture
Self-contained, self-describing, modular functionality
Once deployed, applications and other Web services can discover and invoke a Web service
Enterprise services
Web services that provide business functionality
Have enterprise quality in scalability, robustness, security, manageability, supportability
Web services model describes what functionality can be expected from those services
For Example: Cancel order
Order can usually not be simply deleted in a database
Cancel ordermay involve a complex business process
Back-end system
---Roll-back of order possible?
---Manual steps in roll-back process necessary?
Who else is involved and needs notification?
Logistics service
Loan service
Bonus program
Stop approval process?
Cancellation fee applicable?
Therefore Functional services are needed to build a true Enterprise Services Architecture (ESA)
Web services ensure interoperability between platforms.
ESA creates business benefits by separating business semantics and logic from system semantics and logic, providing the business analyst with the services needed to build a composite application.
Refer to https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/esa-library for more information.
Award points accordingly,

Raju.
