Transfer of Materials through CIF

Hello All,

We are sending materials from R/3 to APO (Product master) through CIF by actiavting the Integration Model .

The Material is getting Transferred but the Proposed Strategy group ( in demand tab of product master) is not getting updated from R/3.

Can anybody help and let us know why this is not transferred from R/3 ?

Also can anybody let us know if we can download all the product masters (T Code: /SAPAPO/MAT1) from any table in APO?

Like someone mentioned before, it depends upon what planning strategy you are using in R/3. Not every planning strategy is supported or CIF'd from R/3.

Read OSS 313476 for help...

Also any pre-existing orders (Forecast and Sales Orders) will not recalculate consumption. You must recif the sales orders and release forecast to SNP again.

Hello Ashok,

Have you first transferred the ATP Customising from R/3 to APO using an Integration Model. This is pretty much an one time activity which will bring the APO and R/3 system in sync with Planning Strategy.

To get all location-product master data check out table /SAPAPO/V_MATLOC. This table does not need the location and product master GUIDs.

Yes we had actiavted the IM for ATP Customizing, as per my understanding, when we CIF the materials the startegy group maintained in MRP View (R/3) should get populated in the Product master (Demand Tab) , but this is not happening.

The Actual problem is when we transfer the forecast from DP to SNP, the old forecast is not deleted from SNP if the strategy group is missing in the product master.

Let me know your views on this?

Are you using standard strategies?

Pl check if the Proposed Strategy in SPRO in APO have been maintained (the standard ones are delivered by default)

this will be in SPRO for APO -

Production Planning >> Demand Management>> Planned Independent Requirements >> Planning Strategy >> Define Strategy.

Are you getting no Strategy group at all??

If i remember right the strategy numbers are a bit muddled up between R3 and APO

Strategy 10 in R3 on transfer becomes 20 in APo and 20 becomes 40.... (someone confirm this please)

as for the MAT1 data,

You should be able to download a few product master related data in MASSD

if you have not used this before, there are a few post you will get here on search that will explain how to use this transaction

Table : /SAPAPO/MATKEY (field MATID is not a material number but a guid)
