What are the SLD diamensions? what is the use of that?

Anjaneya
Hi Swami,
There are 3 SLD dimensions namely Business ,Transport and Technical.Business dimension deals with the s/w installed ,transport dimension deals with the various regions availbale like dev, prod etc and last is the technical dimension which deals with the technical informattion associated with the system like host ip ,logical system etc
Details of this can be found in the SAP XI training materail TBIT40

Hi Anjaneya,
SLD is based on CIM(common Information Model).
In SLD we define the Products & Software Components, to keep track of the development s and we do in Integration Repository.
In SLD we register Technical Systems i.e the physical systems. for example R/3 system of CRM system in our landscape.
We assign Business Systems to Technical Systems. These are logical entities.
For example, we create different Business Systems for different clients of an R/3 Systems.
I have referred SAP systems here. We can hava java based or 3 rd party systems as well in our landscape.
So, SLD can be used to find all the systems in our landscape at any point of time

SLD captures the dimensions of the system landscape like solution dimension, transport dimension and technical dimension.
This is just a categorization of SLD based on various possible ways to handle SLD. Certain things are developed and configured based on the dimension. This is a theretical view of SLD so no clear cut advantage.
